To replace the dryer cord for the LG TrueSteam you will simply need a Phillips #0 screwdriver. It will fit all screws that you will be taking out today. If not done correctly there could be some electrical hazards. Make sure to pull out the dryer from the wall to ensure maximum space for you to work with. Insure that you have plenty of light, and steady hands to complete this fix. The total list of Phillips head screws are: (2.2mm)x3, (3.2mm)x2, (6mm)x 2.

    • Notice that the grounding wire screw is a 3.2 mm screw compared to the other ones at 2.2mm. It is important to keep them separated. In the event that you lose a 2.2mm screw, there should be a spare screwed into the back of your dryer.

    • Feed the new power cable into the wire hole, and screw the cables in from reverse order using the proper corresponding screws. Note that the white cables are stacked on top of each other. In that case the wire coming from the dryer goes under the wire from the new cord.

    • Lastly replace the back panel, and wire clamp. Ensure that the wire clamp hooks into the wire hole. This will keep the wires from falling out and getting damaged.

The spare screw note was a life saver. Didn't even notice that was there and was scrambling to find a replacement before I found this guide.

I have an existing manufacturer power cord that has no color coded wires. They’re all gray and homogenous. Can’t distinguish one from the other. What do I do? I uninstalled this cord thinking that I needed to replace it with a different cord but found out that it would actually work so I reinstalled it not knowing that it required a specific color code installation.
