So first of all get the tablet lay it flat and pry open the layer closest to the back. Start by the cover for the sim card. Edge your way round using a spudger. Hold it open using the guitar picks.

-
Before we are able to open the second layer we must unscrew every screw round the edge. The top left screw has an anti tamper seal on the top.

Once the screws are removed, use a spudger and guitar picks to unclip the bezel. We have now unscrewed the second layer and we have got to the bottom of it.
-
We were planning to remove the micro USB socket as the tablet had stopped charging and replace it or solder the dry joints caused by the constant flexing of the plug in the socket.
-
To do this we would need to unglue the battery and the flexi rigid circuit board underneath and replace them as it is unlikely that the removal could be achieved without damage. We did not have spare parts so decided that the best option was to reassemble for the present and try to obtain spare parts.
-
The reassembly is a reverse of the operation. Don't forget to remove the sim card before reassembly and make sure that the buttons are properly seated before snapping the first layer on.

Now put the second layer on top of the third layer and screw it back together then the first layer just snaps on. i hope this was helpful if it wasn't have your say on why it is unhelpful and i may adjust it.

Note: My Son Richard is 12 and wrote this up in mainly his own words. Both he and his younger sister have a fascination for mechanical and electrical things and I hope they will take forward the iFixit principles as they go through life. Robin
