    • The marked solder joints tend to crack when exposed to repeated heating and cooling.

    • Make sure that there is a connection between C points in the second picture - if there's a resistance or open line add wire bridge as described with green line from C to C point. This is power so DO NOT use signal wires/kynar.

    • Note: While you have your soldering iron out make sure to inspect pretty much every other solder joint on the board and re-flow it if necessary.

Hey thanks for this info. I am still having problems however. Originally the unit acted like it was cranked up full blast and clipping the speakers. I reflowed the solder joints you suggested and checked the board thoroughly. No cracks in the board or joints that I could see. Now I am getting the F70 fault, which I had not gotten before. Any thoughts?

great fix! I was scared to do it, but the soldering worked well (my daughter kindly did it) and f70 no more!

Tested all fuses and metered the circuit as described and all looks good. Now what? The F70 code only pops up when using the RCA 5 disk CD changer.

Funny Keith. You and I are the same wavelength. I'm on other side of US in Seattle. Same time. Same issue. Same error. I'm not too psyched to throw down the $ to replace this thing. My next plan is to head to a thrift store and see if I can find something similar. Someone said this in the notes on other site which seems like not a bad idea.

Thank you for this information. I've got a SX-DA950 that was losing all input audio (CD, Tape, Phone, TV and even Radio). Instead, I would get hissing noise through the speakers. Resoldering the connections shown in step 7 fixed the issue. It's been running stable for the past hour with no further issue.
