This guide will show you how to remove a defective vacuum motor on the Ecovacs DEEBOT D35. To replace it, install a new one by follow these steps in reverse.

  1. Lay the Deebot face down so you have access to the battery compartment. Remove the battery.

  2. Locate the 9 screws that secure the back cover. Remove with a PH2 Phillips Head Screwdriver. The screws are:

  3. Use a spudger or plastic opening tool to separate the Deebot backside.

  4. Carefully lift the back cover from the body of the Deebot to expose the internal wiring harnesses.

  5. There are 5 wiring harnesses that need to be disconnected before completely removing the back cover.

    • There are two blue wiring harnesses on the front left and right side (located next to the sensor). They are represented by the red circles.

    • There is a multicolor wiring harness on the front center. This is represented by the orange circle.

  6. Locate the 4 screws on the vacuum motor.
    • Locate the 4 screws on the vacuum motor.

  7. Remove the screws from the vacuum motor body with a PH2 Phillips Head Screwdriver. The screws are:

  8. Remove the vacuum motor body
    • Remove the vacuum motor body
