Introduzione

The LCD screen is the component of the phone that allows the user to see the oututs from the circuit board once the actions have been converted interally inside the phone from the users input.

  1. Make sure the phone is turned off by pressing the power off button ensuring no data is lost.

  2. Using either your thumb or the opening tools, remove the battery by prying you in the direction of the arrow

    • If removing battery is for the replacement of a new battery make sure to properly dispose of the old battery at a recycling center.

    • Remove the rubber inserts from the screw holes using the black metal tweezers. This is done by insering the tip of the metal tweezer down around the plastic insert.

    • Remove the 3.1mm long, Phillips #00 screws (Qty: 4) from the corners.

    • This is done by turning the skrew driver counter clockwise using little torque.

    • Seperate the phone's front case from the back case.

    • There is an intermediate decorative outlay around the front cases perimeter. This should be removed as well.

    • Remove volume slider button by using the tweezers to pry it out.

    • The volume slider button may fall out during the seperation of the front and back cases, this is ok.

    • Use the opening tools to seperate the circuit board from inside of the back case by prying between the circuit board and the case as shown.

    • The last picture is a view of the back of the circuit board.

    • Using the opening tools pry the LED screen back to give access to the connecting ribbon cable.

    • The LED screen is connected to the mother board with light adhesive which can easily be separated.

    • Use a soldering iron to melt away the connection between the ribbon cable and circuit board.

    • The solder iron creates high temperatures that may cause bodily harm.

    • Only make contact with the solder connection. This will ensure no damage to the mother board or any other components of the phone

    • Once the solder connection has heated up apply slight tension to the ribbon cable which will allow for complete removal of the LED screen

Conclusione

To reassemble your device with a new LED screen, follow these instructions in reverse order. Note that you will need to use the soldering iron again to assemble the new LED screen ribbon to the phone.
