This repair guide demonstrates how to remove and replace damaged watch links on your Bulova Precisionist 96B252. However, the steps should be similar for other watches with metal links. This guide aims to go over the process of removing the faulty watch link from the watch band and replacing it with a new one.
A watch band is sometimes composed of metal links that are connected to form the band. The links can be removed and replaced as needed using a few tools that are specific to watches. Occasionally, the links will bend, get scratched, or damaged and a replacement is necessary. This guide can also be used to remove a link if the band is too large.

Open the watchband and locate the arrows that are on the inside edge of the band.

Place the watch onto the watch holder with the arrows pointing down.

Align the 0.8 mm pin puncher to the link hole you want to remove.

Lightly tap the pin puncher with the soft side of the hammer until the pin comes out

Flip the watch so the arrows on the band are pointing up and away from the watch holder.

Align the pinhole on the new link with the pinhole on the watch band.

Once the pin holes are lined up, position the pin over the holes

Use the soft side of the hammer to gently tap the pin into the links, connecting the new link to the watch.

Once the pin is smoothly inserted into the band, try the watch on to ensure the new links are aligned and securely in place.
