Introduzione

In this guide you will learn how to replace your Asus Vivobook X540SA-BPD0602V's motherboard. A damaged motherboard will lead to a lack of a digital display and the inability to use your device.

  1. Power down the laptop using the device's power button in  top right corner of the keyboard. Ensure that the device's power cord is disconnected.

  2. Flip the laptop over so the back panel is displayed.

  3. Using a Phillips #0 screwdriver, remove the ten screws from the back panel.

    • It is recommended to break the seal of the case starting at the upper corners closest to the hinge.

  6. Observe where the ribbons connect to the motherboard; there are two connections. Each connection has a black clamp. To remove the ribbon, lift up the black clamp and disconnect.

  7. Very carefully, remove the batteries with the same blue plastic iFixit opening tool used in the first tutorial. Focus your efforts on the combed hinge to the left of the batteries.

    • The batteries should all be connected to one another and come out of the device as a single unit.

    • Be careful not to rip any of the black plastic covering the batteries. Exposed battery parts can lead to explosions. If the case is ripped, re-wrap them, or properly dispose of them. Do not use them.

  11. Use the Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the two screws (2.7 mm) on the side of the disc drive fastener.

  16. Using the blue plastic opening tool in the iFixit tool kit, slide the hard drive to the right to remove it from the case.

  17. The fan is located near the upper left hand corner of the device, connected to the motherboard and right beneath the wireless card.

  18. There is a bundle of wires connecting the fan to the motherboard. Disconnect them.

  19. Using the J00 screw bit in the iFixit tool kit, remove the three screws securing the fan to the case. One screw connected to the bottom case (4cm), one connected to the motherboard (4cm), and one screw connected to the Wireless Card (5cm).

  20. Carefully remove the fan from the case using the blue iFixit opening tool.

  22. There are wires attached to the motherboard, connecting the motherboard to the display.

    • Peel the sticker back, and carefully remove the cable from the motherboard.

  24. There are five screws (5mm) used to secure the motherboard to the display. Using the J0 bit located in the iFixit tool kit, remove the screws.

  25. Slide the first half of the motherboard to the right to remove it from the case.
