Introduzione

In this guide you will learn how to remove and replace your Asus Vivobook X540SA-BPD0602V's Disk Drive. If your disk drive breaks you wont be able to put in any CD's or DVD's, and sometimes needed software updates come in a disc format.

  1. Power down the laptop using the device's power button in  top right corner of the keyboard. Ensure that the device's power cord is disconnected.

  2. Flip the laptop over so the back panel is displayed.

  3. Using a Phillips #0 screwdriver, remove the ten screws from the back panel.

  6. Use the plastic opening tool to wedge and loosen the seal all the way around the edges. Carefully lift up the keyboard panel.

  8. Very carefully, remove the batteries with the same blue plastic iFixit opening tool used in the first tutorial. Focus your efforts on the combed hinge to the left of the batteries.

    • The batteries should all be connected to one another and come out of the device as a single unit.

    • Be careful not to rip any of the black plastic covering the batteries. Exposed battery parts can lead to explosions. If the case is ripped, re-wrap them, or properly dispose of them. Do not use them.

    • Note which screws go where. The two smaller screws fasten onto the disc drive, while the three larger screws secure the drive on the outside.

  11. Use the Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the two screws (2.7 mm) on the side of the disc drive fastener.

  12. After removing the seven screws, lift the metal fastener from the disc drive with the plastic opening tool.

  13. Slide the disc drive to the right, removing it from the laptop case.
