Introduzione

Kindle batteries can last many years, but it may be necessary to replace a battery if the battery performance is at an unbearable level. Rechargeable batteries of any kind can be tricky and there can be many causes to the worsening of a battery’s health.

Some of these causes could be overcharging or undercharging. Overcharging may result from frequent usage of a device and undercharging may result from an extended period of time without access to a charger. Other possible issues may result from charging the battery to full capacity too often and also using the battery until the it dies on a regular basis. Batteries are still not perfectly understood however so it is not often easy to pinpoint causes for deterioration of battery health.

No matter the reason for changing out an old battery it is not clear exactly how this process is completed. This guide will show the user how to correctly access the battery in the device. This is necessary for users replacing the Amazon Kindle DX battery.

  1. Take your Kindle DX and flip it to see the back. Use the opening tool from the ifixit toolkit and push it against the top part of the Kindle DX.

  4. Once the small piece is removed locate the 2 small screws on each corner. Each screw is 40mm long and a Philips screwdriver from the kit with the size PH 0 fits perfectly to remove the screws. In Step 5, you actually can insert the tool into the 2 holes on side, slide along the edge to loose the back cover, then slide the cover down to remove it. No need to pry on the edge, which is quite difficult.
