Introduzione
Is your 2017 Toyota Corolla not getting the gas mileage it used to? Does it lack the power it once had? Maybe the problem lies within a very small and easy fix that can solve both problems, two birds with one stone as they say.
A car's engine mileage and power can suffer due to multiple complicated reasons, but some of the most common, despite how easy of a fix it is, is the engine's air filter. The air filter is what allows air to be fed into the engine which is sparked for ignition. If one's filter is too dirty and dusty, not only will the car lose power, but it will spend too much grasping for air, ensuring low mileage in the times to come.
Before using this guide, there are things to consider. First, ensure nothing else is faulty with your car engine with a quick car scanner, or borrow one from O'Riley/Autozone, and second check the car mileage. You should be replacing your engine's air filter every 50k miles. People go 120k miles without even glancing at it once, oh the horror!
Be wary of possible dust and filtered build up when replacing. It's a car engine, not nature's breeze.
Before beginning, place your car in park, engage the parking brake, and power off the ignition.
