  • First, pull off your horn button and remove the horn wire by pushing in and twisting the plastic keeper.

There are six "torx head" screws that hold the steering wheel to the steering wheel hub. It is NOT necessary to remove these, but it does make the job easier.

  • Remove the steering shaft nut and pull off the steering hub. A steering wheel puller may be required. Use caution as the steering hub may pop loose. Next, remove the two "torx head" screws behind the steering hub that hold the two plastic covers together.

  • The top plastic cover should pull off with a little persuasion.

  • Use locking pliers to unscrew the tilt-adjusting lever. TIP: Wrap a shop towel or dish cloth around the lever to keep from scratching it.

  • Remove the three "torx hed" screws holding the bottom plastic cover to the steering column. The cover should then fall off.

  • The first picture is what you should see while sitting in the car correctly. Lean over to find and remove the two "torx head" screws on the left-hand side of the ignition assembly.

  • Use a flat head screwdriver to make sure the new switch is good (reconnect battery and turn the switch in either direction as if to turn the vehicle on then start then off. It should turn smoothly and only kick back to the on position. After testing the new switch, disconnect the battery again. Take note of the tab on the case of the switch.

  • Tab A goes into slot B, marked in the photo. Also note that just above the red circle is the end of the ignition lock cylinder in the off position. If yours is not in the off position, it should be.

  • Putting everything back together is the opposite removal. It should be fairly easy.
